Things change and so must we!
In this ever changing, ever growing, technology-driven world, it’s important for digital marketers to stay informed and up-to-date of the latest trends, tips, tactics, and techniques to better serve our clients.
What may have worked two years ago, may not necessarily work now.
Not to mention best practices! You definitely don’t want to get you or your client in trouble for not knowing any new rules or regulations that may have changed or been put in place.
If you want to stay sharp and in the game, it’s important that you and your team stay plugged into digital marketing current events.
I think it’s safe to say that growing up, I wasn’t the biggest fan of doing homework and going to school, but I did enjoy the challenge of learning new things from time to time. It took me a few failed classes, life lessons and pivots to figure out what I was good at and what I really enjoyed doing, but fast forward a little and I am the co-owner of a digital marketing agency in Jacksonville, Florida.
I still may not have a degree from a fancy university hanging on my wall, but I am proud of my Content Marketing Specialist certification and plan on enrolling in the NISM Social Media Strategist certification course in the near future.
Our agency knows the value of investing in our continuing education which will allow us to improve our skills, learn new ones, grow and stand out from the rest.
Here are 3 ways to invest in your continuing education
- Sign up for Webinars/Online Training
You don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own home for this one. There are even webinars and online training out there that are FREE and on demand! So there’s no excuse.
Social Media Marketing, Facebook Ads, Content Creation, Video, SEO, Email Marketing, Graphic Design…take your pick! Find one in your niche that interests you, that you can benefit from, and sign up and start learning today.
Here are a few free webinars from NISM to get you started.
- Attend Live Conferences/Workshops
OK, so you’ll need to leave your house for this one and sometimes even your city.
But, in my opinion, there is nothing quite like attending a live event, surrounded by like-minded people, learning from industry leaders, absorbing the exciting, positive energy, and connecting with others that you can even do business with in the future.
SEM Rush put out this calendar for 2019. In addition, you can find several great speakers going to the Midwest Digital Marketing Conference in April 2019.
- Enroll in a Certification Course
Find the one that’s right for you. Just make sure you do your research and find a credible one like the National Institute for Social Media.
Obtaining a certification will help elevate your brand and help you stand out above the rest.
Alright, now that you know the importance of continuing education and ways you can continue learning, which one will you sign up for today?
Remember, investing in your education is always a good idea!
