New Leadership at the National Institute for Social Media Answers the Call for Professional Standards
Jennifer Radke, CEO, reveals new product offerings and updated Advisory Committee
MINNEAPOLIS – Now under new leadership, the National Institute for Social Media (NISM), the first organization to offer industry educational standards for the social media field, is set to begin new sessions in late January, teaching a new class of professionals best-practices in the rapidly changing social media industry. NISM came under new leadership in mid-2016 after being purchased by education and business operations veterans Jennifer Radke and Shannon Gronemeyer. Radke became NISM’s new CEO and Gronemeyer was named COO.
“Organizations are actively recruiting skilled social media experts, but there’s a significant gap in the number of trained professionals and the rising level of demand for them in the market,” said Jennifer Radke. “The National Institute for Social Media is dedicated to educating professionals and business owners interested in investing in the education of their marketing team in the rapidly changing social media industry, offering ongoing education, certification and professional resources to ensure practitioners stay at the top of their game and are able to demonstrate a verified understanding of social media strategy.”
Under Radke’s leadership, the National Institute for Social media is rolling out new product offerings, designed to better serve the needs of social media professionals seeking certification and continuing education. To that end, NISM has reformed the certification exam to better reflect the ever-changing social media industry, is rolling out a new series of six textbooks, is launching a robust NISM educator training program and is introducing continuing education classes, which will begin in March.
Additionally, Radke has recruited new leadership to the Advisory Committee, which now includes professionals from marketing and advertising firms, local universities and companies including Cambria Health. NISM has also hired several staff members including a new chief learning officer, a vice president of sales and an administrative services manager.
