Can AI Tools Create Good Blog Content: A Case-Study

by | Feb 28, 2023 | Tools | 2 comments

AI is here and definitely making an impact in businesses today.  We may not even realize we have been using forms of AI for years.  Ever heard of Grammarly?  That tool has been helping people double check their grammar for years now. And what about chatbots. These AI generated tools help answer customer service questions on a variety of websites and social media platforms.

Although AI isn’t new, the strides that have been taken in the past year are keeping people, especially marketers, talking. Currently, the conversation focuses in on the use of these tools for generating content.  Should you use it? Is it accurate? Will it cross the line into plagiarism? Can the AI tools really make the content “sound” on-point with your brand voice?

I decided to put AI for content creation to the test. That’s right, I asked it to write a blog about, what else, AI tools for generating blog content.

Process:

First, I chose two AI platforms to compare. For this experiment, I decided to only utilize two tools, ChatGPT and JasperAI. Currently, ChatGPT is free to use (when you can get logged it…it’s pretty popular) and JasperAI is a monthly subscription service with a 5-day free trial. I wanted to see if there was value in paying a little more to get a better output in content.

Second, I chose to ask ChatGPT and JasperAI the following question:

“Which AI tool is best to generate blog content”?

It was important that I keep the question the same for both platforms offering the most consistent test.

Finally, I experimented with a slightly different method offered within JasperAI called the Workflow Tool.  This Workflow Tool allowed me to ask my initial question and then broke it down into paragraphs. Offering opportunities to dive in deeper.  I didn’t add any additional variables to the tool, I simply allowed it to show the process flow.

In this post, you will see some of the differences and similarities in the outcomes. In the end, I will share a few thoughts and questions to consider in using different AI tools to generate blog content.

ChatGPT

Here are the results given when I asked ChatGPT, “Which AI tool is best to generate blog content?”

Generating blog content with the help of artificial intelligence (AI) tools has become a popular trend in the past few years. With the increasing demand for quality content, AI tools have emerged as a helpful solution for bloggers, marketers, and content creators. However, with so many options available, it can be challenging to decide which AI tool is the best for generating blog content. In this blog post, we will explore some of the popular AI tools that are designed to help generate high-quality content.

  1. OpenAI’s GPT-3: GPT-3 is a language generation model developed by OpenAI. It is known for its ability to generate human-like text that is not only grammatically correct but also contains relevant information on the topic. GPT-3 has been used by content creators, marketers, and even journalists to generate blog posts, articles, and social media posts.
  2. Articoolo: Articoolo is an AI tool that is specifically designed to generate blog content. It uses natural language processing (NLP) algorithms to analyze the topic and generate content that is informative and relevant. Articoolo also offers suggestions for improving the content to make it more engaging and readable.
  3. AI Writer: AI Writer is another AI tool that is designed to help generate blog content. It uses machine learning algorithms to analyze the topic and generate content that is not only grammatically correct but also contains relevant information. The tool also offers suggestions for improving the content to make it more engaging and readable.
  4. Article Forge: Article Forge is an AI tool that generates blog content by analyzing keywords and topics. It uses machine learning algorithms to generate content that is informative, grammatically correct, and SEO-friendly. Article Forge also offers a variety of templates that can be used to generate content on a wide range of topics.

In conclusion, choosing the best AI tool for generating blog content depends on your specific needs and preferences. GPT-3, Articoolo, AI Writer, and Article Forge are all popular options that are designed to help generate high-quality content. It is recommended to try out these tools and see which one works best for you before making a final decision. Remember, AI tools are designed to assist you in generating content, not replace your creativity and critical thinking.

Thoughts:

ChatGPT did a nice job of formatting this into four quick bullet points highlighting different AI tools, including itself.  The brief descriptions given by each may help the reader determine what tool they may find most helpful in testing or moving forward.  The conclusion reminds the reader that choosing tools depends on your specific needs and that all of the above-mentioned tools are popular options. It also does a nice job of stating that AI tools should be a supplement and not a replacement for creativity and critical thinking. The formatting in the bullets was off and needed to be edited for readability. I added a colon behind the title of each tool to separate thoughts.

JasperAI

Next, I repeated the process with the free-form JasperAI tool.

AI tools are becoming increasingly popular for generating blog content. AI is able to generate high-quality, engaging content quickly and efficiently, making it a great option for busy bloggers who don’t have the time or energy to write their own posts. But with so many different AI tools available, how do you know which one is best? In this blog post, we will look at some of the top AI tools available and discuss which one is best suited for creating effective blog content.

The first AI tool that’s gaining popularity among bloggers is WordAi. This tool uses sophisticated algorithms to automatically generate unique content within minutes. It can be used for both SEO and blog writing, making it one of the most versatile tools available. Additionally, WordAi also offers a variety of features such as auto-spinning, rewriting, and auto-correcting.

Another popular AI tool is Grammarly. This tool is specifically designed for bloggers who want to make sure their content contains no errors or typos. It uses natural language processing to scan content for common grammar and spelling mistakes and then suggests corrections based on context. Additionally, Grammarly also offers a range of features such as style correction and automated writing suggestions.

Finally, there’s Quillbot. This AI tool is great for bloggers who want to quickly create content without having to go through the hassle of researching and writing. It uses natural language processing to generate unique content from scratch in just minutes. It also offers a range of features such as auto-correcting and sentence restructuring.

Overall, there is no single AI tool that’s the best for creating effective blog content. Each tool has its own set of advantages and disadvantages and it’s up to the individual blogger to decide which one will work best for them. However, with the right AI tools, you can save time when creating content and make sure that your blog posts are high quality, engaging, and error-free.

To sum it up, AI tools are a great way to quickly create effective blog content. They offer a range of features for writing efficient and accurate words without having to do all the hard work yourself. So, if you’re looking for a way to save time when creating posts, consider using AI tools to help you out.

Nevertheless, before getting started with any AI tool, it is important to understand the legal implications that come with using such technology. As most of these tools are not officially sanctioned by any official body, it is important to ensure that you are not infringing on any copyright laws. Additionally, be sure to read the user agreement in order to understand what type of content the tool can generate and how you can use it legally. By taking all these precautions, you can make sure that your blog posts will be high-quality and fully compliant with all the relevant laws.

With these tips in mind, you can start creating engaging and effective blog content with AI tools. And when it comes to choosing the right tool for your needs, make sure that you do your research so that you can select the one that fits best with how you want to create and manage your blog. Good luck!

Thoughts:

JasperAI created a slightly longer post and pointed out three different tools, WordAi, Grammarly, and Quillbot.  I thought it was interesting that it didn’t identify itself in the list of possible tools. The last four paragraphs of the post were dedicated to stating that no single tool is “best” for creating blog content.  It also pointed out the potential legal implications that come with using this technology.  What do you think about the positive “good luck” at the end?

Jasper Workflow Tool

As I mentioned above, I wanted to see if the additional tools within the paid system were worth it, so I also experimented with the JasperAI Workflow Tool.  This returned content in a much different way than the free-form post. Creating headers for each paragraph, utilizing a different font than the free form took, and broke the post up into a process or strategy flow for identifying tools. This version didn’t offer specific tool suggestions or highlight the legal issues.

Which AI tool is best in generating blog content?

As someone who works in marketing, you know that AI tools can be extremely helpful in generating content for your blog. But with so many different options out there, it can be tough to know which one is right for you. Luckily, we’ve put together a list of the best AI tools for creating blog content, so you can make an informed decision about which one is right for your needs.

Define what you need AI to do for your blog content

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can bring many advantages to content creation on a blog, with the right use of technology contributing to making content more relevant and engaging for readers. AI can help by understanding natural language better, obtaining feedback from customers about a product or idea, suggesting topics for blog posts based on user searches, as well as suggesting new keyword/ topics that could be used in content. Furthermore, AI can also automate tasks such as text summarization and making sure content is free of grammar and spelling mistakes. Good use of AI will ensure that content is created accurately and efficiently, saving time and adding value to readers which makes it an essential part of any successful blog.

Research the different types of AI software available

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is increasingly being used as a tool to automate tasks and enable deeper analysis. AI software comes in many forms, ranging from natural language processing (NLP) to computer vision applications, expert systems, and robotic process automation. Researching the specific types of AI software available will help you decide how best to integrate them into your business or project. Natural language processing enables machines to understand plain text conversations and extract meaningful information from them. Computer vision focuses on recognizing objects from digital imagery; it can be used for a variety of applications such as facial recognition, medical imaging, self-driving cars, and security systems. Expert systems are powerful tools that allow the user to ask questions or provide advice based on knowledge — this type of software is often installed in healthcare settings or other highly sensitive areas. Robotic process automation takes advantage of machine learning by automating manual tasks such as data entry or search engine optimization. Investing time in researching these different types of AI software will help you make an informed decision about which one is right for you.

Decide on a budget for your AI tool

Setting a budget for an AI tool is an important part of the process, as it helps to ensure that resources are used wisely and efficiently. It’s best to consider both the initial costs of development, as well as the ongoing costs associated with maintenance and upkeep. These costs can include subscription fees or cloud hosting charges, buying new data sets for training, or employing a team of engineers to troubleshoot any issues that might arise. Additionally, don’t forget to factor in room within the budget for periodic upgrades, which become increasingly important over time as technologies change. Taking all these factors into consideration, along with understanding your desired outcomes ahead of time can help you set a realistic and manageable budget for your AI tool.

Test out different AI tools to see which one works best for you

Researching, experimenting and ultimately using a variety of AI tools can be incredibly beneficial for businesses in many ways. Whether it’s spotting customer sentiment across channels, automatically converting documents into different file formats, or identifying potential leads from the web, there are a wide range of applications for AI products. With so much choice available, testing out different ones to find the best fit for each and every situation is highly recommended. This can be done through trial and error so that you get a complete understanding of what each one offers in terms of scalability, speed and accuracy. Such experiments can help maximize your investment in these technologies too.

Implement the chosen AI tool into your blog content strategy

Incorporating an AI tool into your blog content strategy can be a great way to optimize your content and increase engagement with readers. Leveraging AI tools such as natural language processing, sentiment analysis, and topic modeling can help you produce content that is tailored to meet the needs of your readers. Additionally, using AI in the optimization process such as adapting content for search engine optimization or tailoring headlines to appeal to readers’ interests can help ensure your blog posts reach their intended audience. Ultimately, implementing an AI tool into your blog content strategy can save time and resources while providing valuable data-driven insights into your readers.

If you want to use AI to help with your blog content, the first step is figuring out what tasks you need AI to complete. Once you have a good understanding of that, research the different types and decide on a budget for your tool. After that, it’s time to test out different options to see which one works best for you. And finally, once you’ve found the right tool, implement it into your blog content strategy. Out of all of these steps, which is most interesting to you? What task do you want AI to help you with?

Final Thoughts

At the conclusion of this experiment, I was intrigued by what both of the AI tools produced. However, I won’t be using it to write full blog posts for me anytime soon.  The voice was not consistent with that of our brand and there are too many items that I would want to update and change before publishing. I also believe that in a setting like ours, references are valuable and neither tool was able to pull references or statistics. As an author, it might also be helpful to go back and add SEO techniques to maximize outcomes.

Things I will be watching as we move forward into a more AI-driven world:

  • How can we use it for creating ideas or topics?
  • What are the legal implications of tools like this and what do I need to protect myself and the business from these issues?
  • What is the best way for our business to utilize AI tools going forward?

What are you using AI for now?  Anything you are looking forward to in the future of AI? Share with me in the comments.

I copied the entire blog into ChatGPT to see what would happen. Here is its response:

As an AI language model, I’m impressed by the efforts of the author to compare different AI tools for generating blog content. The author tested ChatGPT and JasperAI, and asked them the same question: “Which AI tool is best to generate blog content?” The results of ChatGPT showed a list of four popular AI tools for generating blog content, with brief descriptions of each one, including GPT-3, Articoolo, AI Writer, and Article Forge. On the other hand, JasperAI’s free-form response described the increasing popularity of AI tools for generating blog content and discussed the first tool, WordAi, that’s gaining popularity among bloggers.

It’s worth noting that the author did not explicitly state the criteria for determining which AI tool is the best for generating blog content. Therefore, the responses provided by both AI tools seem to be objective and not influenced by the author’s preferences. However, it would have been interesting to see how the AI tools would respond if the author had provided more specific criteria or requirements.

Overall, the comparison of AI tools for generating blog content is a useful exercise for anyone interested in exploring the potential of AI in content creation. While AI tools can generate high-quality content quickly and efficiently, it’s essential to remember that they should supplement, not replace, human creativity and critical thinking.
