The Social Media Strategist, Influencer and Partnerships, is responsible for creating and executing Thrivent’s influencer marketing strategy with an internal team and agency partner to identify influencers and creators for Thrivent. This role brings extensive marketing/program development expertise in social media, influencer relations and partnership programs and relies on high degree of social media acumen to determine what programs are required to continuously improve organizational marketing outcomes. This position provides leadership to large and/or complex work streams, projects and initiatives that engage cross-organizational team members. This role may be asked to lead enterprise initiatives and to engage with people from all levels of the organization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:  

  • Develop and implement influencer strategy in partnership with internal stakeholders and agency partners, sourcing influencers and fostering partnerships to increase Thrivent’s brand awareness and consideration.
  • Provide strategic social media planning, negotiate influencer contracts, educate influencers on brand expectations, and analyze influencer performance, collaborating with internal teams to integrate creator strategies into marketing programs.
  • Leads large and complex marketing programs/initiatives that drive brand recognition and affinity, productivity and membership growth. Leverages extensive experience to drive strategic development that aligns with key corporate strategies and goals; manages the work of cross-organizational sub-teams/work streams.
  • Works with research and analytics teams to determine business opportunities, model consumer behaviors, gather field insights/feedback and track results. Leverage data and analytics to drive improvements to marketing programs/initiatives that result in greater ROI.
  • Develop trusted relationships with key internal/external stakeholders to collaborate and influence across the organization contributing to the development of consumer offers that attract target segments, drive membership growth and increase member loyalty.
  • Translates strategic vision to drive flawless tactical execution; provides coaching to help grow organizational marketing acumen.
  • Leverages market data and analytics to influence success of marketing programs/initiatives and to continuously improve upon marketing results. Partners with field colleagues, member and stakeholder feedback to ensure alignment and to optimize effectiveness. Continues to build marketing intelligence through external and internal data sources.
  • Uses vertical marketing expertise/experience to contribute to larger marketing initiatives and projects. May be charged with leading cross- sub-teams and work streams and providing work direction in support of larger marketing initiatives. Leverages experience to drive development that aligns with key corporate strategies and initiatives.
  • Contributes to the development of marketing strategies that support the organizational Brand and Go-To-Market strategies; responsible for development of actionable tactics that support productivity and new member growth. Plans and creates positioning of brand to select market segments through multiple communication channels.
  • Plans, creates and/or produces content on social networking websites, interactive marketing related media.
  • Develop trusted relationships with key internal/external stakeholders to collaborate and contribute to branding and distribution of member offers that attract target segments, drive membership growth and increase member loyalty.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:   

Required: 

  • 7-10 years of influencer and social media marketing or related experience.
  • College degree in marketing or related field; masters a plus but not required.
  • Experience in a specialized area of marketing (direct marketing, e-marketing, communications, analytics, brand positioning, social networking media, etc.) and/or project/program management.
  • Excellent communication skills and exceptional customer service mindset.
  • Demonstrates strong project management and collaboration skills.
  • Applies a development mindset that uses creativity and marketing expertise to develop new, more effective and more efficient marketing approaches.

Preferred:   

  • 5+ years relevant experience in consumer financial services and with a distributed sales force preferred – in banking, lending, debt solutions, or fintech.
  • Ability to manage up/down and across a large organization.

The applicable salary or hourly wage range for this full-time role is $99,535.00 – $134,665.00 per year, which factors in various geographic regions. The base pay actually offered will be determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to, location, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other factors Thrivent deems important.
