Job Description

The Social Media Specialist is a social media content creator who develops accurate and engaging content that supports the organization’s external communications strategy, including brand amplification, awareness and discoverability. Their work should engage target audiences through informative content that supports business objectives and reflects the company’s voice, tone, values, and culture.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively interpret creative direction to develop meaningful, informative, brand-centered social media content that accurately reflects our business and speaks clearly to our target audiences.
  • Monitor and develop appropriate public responses to social media comments/messages.
  • Upload and schedule social media content for publishing.
  • Support social content calendar execution and content production workflows to ensure projects are completed on schedule.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with leaders and subject matter experts across the organization to identify content opportunities and topics and maximize engagement.
  • Assist in monitoring online reviews, ratings, and external feedback channels and contribute to content and response strategies that support brand reputation and audience engagement.
  • Monitor, track, analyze, and report on social campaigns, public engagement, demographics, trends and timing, and competitor comparisons.
  • Other duties and projects, as assigned.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, Public Relations or related field, preferred

Experience

  • Experience in social media or related field, including Communications, Content Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, preferred

Computer Skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Upon Hire, preferred
  • Proficient with Sprout Social and other social media/content management platforms. within 60 Days, required

Other Details

Work Hours

  • Generally, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Monday through Friday with occasional irregular hours depending on workload.

Compensation

  • This is a salary position paid biweekly.
