Position Summary/objective of job: 

As the Social Media Manager, you play a critical role in creating a strong community inside and outside of our scoop shops by bringing the brand to life across our social channels. The role will lead social media strategy execution, content development, and measuring the success of social and content efforts.

 
Essential Functions:  

  • Develop strategic approaches to social media campaigns by channel, including identifying target audiences and creating content that resonates with them; helps differentiate the brand and communicate the brand purpose.

  • Digital storyteller thinking through thematic storylines and compelling content centered around our flavor series, events, collaborations, partnerships, and other social campaigns that align with our marketing initiatives.

  • Work with Vice President of Marketing to establish and execute a clear channel strategy for all appropriate Salt & Straw touchpoints.

  • Ideate and execute on photo and video assets across all social channels.

  • Identify and execute against influencer strategy on a national and market level, in support of general brand, monthly menu series, and other campaigns and projects.

  • Provide proper management of the day-to-day operations of social media accounts.

  • Develop marketing content and promotions that stay true to brand guidelines, drives results and evolves to maintain industry-leading relevancy.

  • Glean insights and intentions from external trends, R&D, founders, and partners to accurately reflect in marketing efforts.

  • Analyze data from social media channels to measure the impact of campaigns and adjust future efforts accordingly.

  • Be the voice of our brand online and engage with customers and followers.

  • Collaborate with other Marketing team members and departments within the organization to develop branding strategies and campaigns.

  • Be on top of the latest social media trends and research new social media platforms that may be appropriate to further the success of the business.

Qualifications

Qualifications: To perform the job successfully, an individual should have the following qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in social media.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, or communications strongly preferred.

  • Experience supervising Team Members.

  • Project management experience.

Knowledge and Critical Skills: 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to bring hospitality into all interactions with team, customer and vendor relationships.

  • Knowledge of best practices in social media arena, especially in TikTok and Meta; keeps abreast of social media trends and trending conversations, including results from competitors and leading brands to follow in the social media space.

  • Ability to communicate very clearly and enthusiastically, with a collaborative and diplomatic demeanor; strong active listening and excellent written communication skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, juggling multiple priorities at the same time.

  • Positive and cooperative team player able to serve others with understanding, respect and care.

  • Self-directed with ability to organize, prioritize, and own multiple tasks while meeting and/or exceeding deadlines; high attention to detail and accuracy. Highly responsive.

  • Discretion to handle confidential information.

  • Competency in Microsoft Office; Mac and PC; general reports; high-volume email correspondence; open to use of project management software.

  • Fluency in English.
