Strengthen and push a high standard for the brand aesthetic across external and internal Crisp & Green touchpoints

  • With CMO & other marketing leaders, lead or support the development of creative, concepts and campaigns to support marketing and business goals
  • Lead implementing our brand strategy and visual design system across mediums to create an inspiring and recognizable brand, carrying it through in everything we do
  • Lead regular evolution and updates to visual guidelines and toolkits, ensuring consistent application of the brand internally and externally
  • Make sure our brand guidelines successfully guide our team plus our internal and external partners
  • Work with the CMO to find opportunities to strengthen and evolve the brand to resonate with our target audience in a way that feels genuine, ownable, and distinct from the competition.
  • Able to clearly communicate design concepts and intention, verbally and visually.
  • Develop a deep understanding of business objectives and customer needs, and how different customer touchpoints experiences can acquire and retain customers.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and best practices, tools, accessibility standards, etc, and weave those into your work

Develop and coach a high-performing team that evolves with our business

  • Model and guide the team on the optimal process for creative development
  • Lead and develop strong creative capabilities to support brand development and storytelling
  • Be a strong and motivating manager and mentor for the creative team
  • This role will be a director (~50%) & doer (~50%), so effectively managing and coaching team members to develop an inspiring visual aesthetic for the brand and guiding design work to high standards within a fast-paced environment must motivate you just as much as creating
  • Be able to deliver and receive regular, ongoing feedback in a way that both pushes the brand and the team to always meet a high standard—supporting the team along the way, celebrating wins and continuous improvement.
  • A self-starter with a positive attitude, who is able to handle multiple projects under tight deadlines.
  • Set clear, and ambitious goals, and hold yourself and your team to the highest standard to achieve those goals

Cross-functional

  • Establish strong, collaborative working relationships with cross functional & agency partners to inspire them and become a key partner in driving exceptional creative work
  • Work strategically to get to the most inspiring creative output across disciplines and channels
  • Set clear expectations with cross-functional teams and serve as a key strategic partner to key stakeholders (brand, field, franchisees) to deliver on expectations
  • Work with key stakeholders to shape briefs that drive inspiring work, collaborate on prioritization efforts, and work with brand & field marketing to build agile yet sustainable ways of working
  • See projects throughout the entire creative process, from pre-briefing (in partnership with marketing colleagues, playing a key role as creative leader) through execution—from big to small

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • A degree in graphic design, creative strategy, marketing, portfolio school, or similar
  • 5+ years experience leading a creative team
  • A proven track record leading design and/or creative direction across multiple channels
  • A strong portfolio showcasing application of design to solve business objectives across a range of media
  • Exceptional taste and design aesthetic, versatility and awareness of design trends and innovation
  • Proactive organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment; ability to drive multiple projects at a time, and iterate quickly
  • Able to work in fluid environments where you need to manage changing priorities, working closely with key stakeholders to clearly understand and communicate objectives
  • Comfortable and confident in your interpersonal skills: listening, negotiating, motivating and decision-making
  • Excellent design and conceptual ability with thorough knowledge of developing and championing design systems, advertising, digital media, print (packaging, in-store marketing), and digital/print production.
  • Excellence in typography, color, layout, and composition
  • Deep knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft 365
  • Passionate about guiding teams and being a strong creative manager and servant leader
