Job Summary:
The Coordinator, Social Media is responsible for assisting in the day-to-day programming and posting for the Washington Commanders social media accounts. This position will also help define and drive social strategy and publishing, assisting in developing a voice and tone, channel guidelines, goals, and audience targets across all platforms. This position will be deeply entrenched in Internet trends, memes and pop culture, with a constant focus on new and innovate ways to distribute content on our channels.
This position will regularly collaborate with all members of the Content team, including Video, Studio, Photography, Creative, as well as other departments including but not limited to Marketing, Public Relations, Sponsorship and Community Relations. The position will also be relied on to regularly assess and adjust the club’s on-going social strategy. The ideal candidate is a creative, clever and motived self-starter who has a strong attention to detail and thrives in the fast-paced environment of sports.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Help to manage and evolve social media department’s planning calendar and daily budget of posts
· Execute brand voice that is representative of the organization across all Commanders social media channels
· Work with the community relations and youth football teams to help grow the game of flag football in the DMV
· Identify potential influencer partnerships to expand the Commanders’ social media footprint and grow the fanbase
· Monitor social media platforms for relevant and timely opportunities to appropriately interact with fans, players and brands
· Track key performance metrics to help monitor success and areas of improvement for all social initiatives
· Collaborate with stakeholders from multiple departments within the organization to achieve key business objectives, with a focus on community relations and youth football initiatives
· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, while keeping organized and maintaining high standards in all work
· Work closely within a social media team consisting of a Senior Manager that the role directly reports to as well as alongside another Coordinator
· Assist with other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a social media role
- Basic video editing experience (e.g. Adobe Premiere) as well as a basic understanding of and comfort level with Adobe Photoshop
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to perform duties with alignment to the Commanders Core Values
Working Conditions:
· Must be able to work irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays
