Job Description

We are seeking a health communicator with approximately 10 years of experience in social marketing focused on strategy, social media content development, and analysis. Ideal candidate will have Federal government agency experience focused on health, science, and research. In addition to marketing expertise, candidates should be comfortable working in a general consulting capacity with experience in strategic consulting, project facilitation, content development, and reporting. The right person for the role will feel comfortable presenting to client leadership and providing strategic recommendations, while leading a team in a highly collaborative environment and being able to work independently and take ownership of their assignments.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with senior-level client leadership
  • Analyze engagement data, identify trends, and apply data insights to the overall social media strategy
  • Develop and implement the social media strategy to align with the client’s overall strategic plan
  • Assist with and increase the capacity of the client’s social media accounts through training, best practices, and template content
  • Provide social media performance analysis for senior-level leadership and provide strategic recommendations
  • Lead the social media and platform content strategy
  • Draft monthly social media content for Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram
  • Lead the development of shareable social media graphics and video assets
  • Manage and lead social media monitoring and listening
  • Conduct independent market research on best practices and new strategies for implementation
  • Create editorial content calendars and assists with content publishing
  • Collaborate with designers and videographers to create social media, digital, and other materials for distribution in support of strategic communication efforts
  • Prepare digital toolkits and assist with distribution of content and materials; coordinate with channel owners and stakeholders
  • Draft content in support of communication activities, including PowerPoint presentations
  • Participate in internal project team and client meetings and contribute to status reports and other project management tools

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or U.S. Legal Permanent Resident
  • Eligible for U.S. Government Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required from college or University; Master’s degree in communications, public affairs, or public health field is a plus
  • 10 years of relevant work experience in social marketing
  • Experience within the Federal government, health, healthcare, research or science fields
  • Experience launching new social media channels and establishing best practices, guides, and templates
  • Excellent critical thinking, presentation, writing, and organizational skills
  • Proven ability to adapt to a dynamic project environment and manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Experience with editorial calendars, project dashboards, and tracking schedules
  • Understanding of health communications and government social media best practices
  • Experience working with designers, writers, and research team members
  • Proficient in Hootsuite, SproutSocial, and Microsoft Suite
  • Experience with social listening tools

Pay Range: $125,000 - $145,000
