Social Media Intern

Job Description
Our Social Media Intern will play a key role in enhancing The Pet Beastro’s online presence by creating and managing engaging content while taking direction from our marketing team. This may be in the form of photos, videos, blogs, interviews, and communicating to the team additional marketing needs to complete projects. This position also includes having some hours on the retail sales floor as a sales associate to learn brands and understand customer needs.

 

Responsibilities

• Utilizing our brand guidelines to create content that is creative, current, and intriguing
• Using and understanding different social platforms
• Attend events for photos, video, and other content
• Attend monthly marketing meetings while giving constructive ideas and input
• Sending a monthly email to the staff with updates for the upcoming events and days

 

Ideal Candidate

• Currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
• Creative mindset with attention to detail and an eye for the best composition.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• You must be comfortable in front of the camera.
• Basic graphic design skills, particularly with Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or similar software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Owning a cat or dog (or both) is a must.

• Starting wage: $13.00 – $15.00 / hour dependent on skills and background, with opportunities for growth based on performance quarterly. Commission bonus begins after 90 days (average part-time associate pay is $15.29 – $22.03/hour with commission).

 

This paid internship is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing and in-store marketing (visuals, merchandising, etc.) while contributing to a fun, pet-focused retail environment while learning about small business operations.

Pay: $13.00 – $15.00 per hour

 

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week
