About the Job

The Marketing Coordinator supports Boone Memorial Hospital, Inc.’s (dba Boone Memorial Health) (“BMH”) marketing and public relations initiatives by assisting in the development, coordination, and execution of marketing campaigns, events, and community engagement activities. This role requires a creative and detail-oriented individual with a passion for communication, design, and relationship building. The Marketing Coordinator will play a key role in advancing BMH’s mission and enhancing its visibility in the communities it serves.

The Marketing and Foundation Associate is expected to perform the following essential functions:

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Assist in managing and monitoring BMH’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.), including content creation, scheduling, responding to inquiries, and tracking analytics.
  • Research trends, propose creative ideas, and help grow BMH’s digital presence.
  • Support website content updates and help maintain brand consistency across digital platforms.

Event Support

  • Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing Marketing and Foundation events (health fairs, fundraisers, ribbon cuttings, holiday events, etc.).
  • Attend events on behalf of BMH to provide logistical support, including event setup, breakdown, and on-site coordination.
  • Capture photos and video at events for use in digital, print, and PR campaigns.

Promotional Materials & Inventory

  • Research, order, track, distribute, and inventory promotional items for giveaways and events.
  • Maintain relationships with vendors to ensure cost-effective purchasing, timely delivery, and consistent quality.
  • Manage an organized storage system for all promotional inventory.

Internal Communications

  • Handle interdepartmental communications and manage internal marketing requests.
  • Assist with employee newsletters, intranet content, and internal branding initiatives.
  • Support leadership and staff with marketing-related needs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

Campaign Development & Production

  • Assist in planning, organizing, and executing major marketing campaigns in coordination with the Chief External Affairs Officer and Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Draft and edit content for press releases, newsletters, and community announcements.
  • Collaborate with external vendors, agencies, and media partners as needed.

Graphic Design & Creative Support

  • Assist in designing marketing collateral, including flyers, brochures, digital graphics, and presentations.
  • Ensure all materials follow BMH’s brand guidelines and maintain a professional, consistent image.
  • Provide creative input on campaign visuals and multimedia content.

Community Engagement

  • Represent BMH at community events and outreach activities, serving as a visible and positive ambassador for the health system and Foundation.
  • Develop and maintain community contacts to strengthen BMH’s visibility and relationships.
  • Help track and report on community engagement initiatives.

Research, Reporting & Administrative Support

  • Conduct research on marketing best practices, audience insights, and competitor activities.
  • Track campaign and event outcomes, providing reports to the Director of Marketing and Public Relations.
  • Provide general administrative support including scheduling, filing, recordkeeping, and invoice processing for marketing expenses.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms, and design software;
  • Familiarity with content management systems, email marketing, and analytics tools preferred.
  • Team-oriented with a positive, proactive attitude.

Physical demands

  • Continuously requires vision, hearing, twisting, and talking.
  • Frequently requires standing, fine dexterity, sitting, and handling. Occasionally requires walking, lifting, carrying, reaching, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, and crouching. Rarely requires climbing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. for event setup and takedown.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move equipment or materials during events.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends for events and community activities.

Travel required

  • Significant time may be spent traveling between BMH facilities and to meetings, events, and other functions related to BMH’s community initiatives.

Required Education And Experience

  • 1-2 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations
  • Associate’s degree or higher in business, marketing, public relations, or other relevant field of study

Preferred Education And Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, marketing, public relations, or other relevant field of study
  • 1–2 years of graphic design experience (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or comparable software)
