These are the highest standards that the testing industry has to offer, and is what have been used throughout the development of our exams, from the research phase, to the deployment phase.

NISM has also partnered with the independent psychometric firm, Assessment Systems Corporation (ASC) in an effort to further ensure that all testing standards reach the highest possible standards.  ASC’s Ph.D. psychometricians have published in both scholarly and testing industry journals, and have presented at major professional conferences including the National Council on Measurement in Education (NCME), the Institute for Credentialing Excellence (ICE), International Association for Computerized Adaptive Testing (IACAT), the Psychometric Society, and the Association of Test Publishers (ATP).

In addition, NISM’s strategic goals are to obtain accreditation from the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).  The NCCA helps to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of the public through the accreditation of a variety of certification programs/organizations that assess professional competence. Certification programs that receive NCCA Accreditation demonstrate compliance with the NCCA’s Standards for the Accreditation of Certification Programs, which were the first standards for professional certification programs.
